These lamps consist of a large square base on four feet decorated with ovals and cabochons. Lambrequins adorn the sides. The base of the vase is a stack of mouldings, beaded and gadrooned rings. The vases are girded with drapes and two masks of fauns. A glass flame is captured in a gadrooned and beaded collar. This pair of lamps quite typical of the decoration of the second half of the 19th century, mixing several stylistic vocabularies. The excellent workmanship as well as the assemblies (screws, dowels) are entirely from the 19th century. We therefore have here a rare luminaire from the beginnings of electrification (1880, 1890) because its electrical installation is original, which makes it one of the very first table lamps operating on electrical energy. Its use was rather public, theaters, cafes, restaurants .....
