Painter of history, mythological subjects, religious compositions, genre scenes, portraits. In 1675 he worked for seven years with Lancelot Volders. In 1689, he was received master in Brussels. He painted many portraits at the court of the Duke of Holstein. Then painted for eleven years in Italy. Finally he returned to Brussels in 1711 and painted a ceiling at the Town Hall.
