Peeter Bout was admitted as master of the Brussels guild of Saint-Luc in 1671. He worked between 1675 and 1677 in Paris, in collaboration with Adriaen Frans Boudewyns. He returned to Brussels and married on August 9, 1695. He painted with Lucas Achtschellinck and Jacques d'Arthois.
Peeter Bout showed a preference for introducing characters into his paintings.
