English or German, 15th century.
Ring size M UK / 6.25 US.
In fine wearable, uncleaned, excavated condition.
The bezel carved in the form of a lombardic letter ’S’
Decade rings were used in personal Catholic prayer in a similar fashion to Rosarys with each projection representing a hail mary.
With an accompanying old collectors note reading ‘14TH CENTURY SILVER RING FOUND IN SALISBURY’.
