French Furniture and Art Pieces of the 18th century and Empire period
Gilded bronze Flambeau with palmette and veiled women decorations.
Delivered by Claude Galle for the service of the Emperor in 1808 for the Hotel de Bordeaux (Palais Rohan), it still appears in the 1826 inventory under the inventory number B 128. Probably repatriated to Paris in 1832 during the sale of the Palace, we find this torch in the room of the Duke of Aumale in the Tuileries Palace in 1833.
Condition report: Very good condition, wear to the gilding.
