Child with a jar, large bronze sculpture with a brown patina for the child and in imitation of terracotta for the jar, it is signed Auguste Moreau and Charles Gautier bronzier on the terrace, the jar with a mask of fauna decoration was designed to receive a lamp or a circular container.
Antique cast iron from the second half of the 19th century, original patina in a good state of preservation.
Auguste MOREAU (1834-1917) French sculptor, third son of the statuary and painter Jean Baptiste MOREAU, he made his debut at the salon in 1861 and exhibited there regularly until 1913, many bronzes are among his entries to the salon.
