*Giacinto Gigante, born in Naples 1806- 1876, is an Italian painter best known for his landscapes
Born in a family of painters (his father Gaetano and his two brothers, Ercole and Achille are also painters), Giacinto Gigante is naturally initiated to this art by it.
In the 1830s he became a recognized painter and received numerous decorations both in the Two Sicilies and abroad. His most fertile period opens then, between 1830 and 1860
