A large framed micromosaic plaque with a bull finch.
Rome, circa. 1800.
Measures 14cm in diameter, 19cm including gilt wood frame.
The large mosaic depicts a bull finch perched upon a branch on a white ground.
Two similar examples attributed to Angelo Tomberli and both dated to the late 18th century can be found in the collection of the Victoria and Albert Museum, London, accession numbers; LOAN:GILBERT.1075:2-2008 and LOAN:GILBERT.968:2-2008.
