Regence Period Tortoiseshell Box

This tortoiseshell box is richly decorated with a gilt bronze keyhole. Its domed tortoiseshell lid reveals an inkwell and a brass compact as well as a removable shelf for storing letters. The set is lined with a probably original silk fabric. Parisian work from the first part of the 18th century
