The dial is in Roman numerals, enamelled. Its wire movement is signed "Paris, Saint Martin" and has a chime of two repeating bells. Its box and its console are decorated with marquetry of brown tortoiseshell and brass? The rear door, which reveals the movement, is inlaid partly on the inside and partly on the outside with an exceptional pattern of grotesques. The rich bronze trim of this cartel is composed of a rooster at the top, four fire pots at each end of the angles of rosettes and falling flowers. Its gilded bronze door features two doves resting on a drapery and sheltered by an umbrella decorated with lambrequins. This cartel is distinguished by its architecture very characteristic of the Louis XIV style by the pigmentation of the tortoiseshell, brown with small red dots.
