French Furniture and Art Pieces of the 18th century and Empire period
Pair of "table" candlesticks in gilded bronze, Empire period.
The flame is removable, in order to add a candle, the bouquet is also removable allowing the use of a simple torch.
The base is decorated with mascarons intertwined with foliage, the sconces are finely chiseled with heads of Hermes and the binnets decorated with palmettes.
Very nice work from the end of the Empire period.
Bronzer's mark: Z and a star.
Condition report: Very good condition of the gilding, the threaded rods of the bouquets and of one of the two candlesticks have been redone.
-As with all gilded bronzes, it is scientifically impossible to guarantee original gilding! Our candlesticks have a mercury gilding of very good quality, probably original.
