Woman with a muff, enamelled stoneware sculpture of a woman with a muff by Pierre-Adrien Dalpayrat (1844-1910).
Pierre-Adrien Dalpayrat was one of the most famous and prolific French ceramists. Trained in the workshop of Jules Vieillard in Bordeaux, he settled permanently in Bourg-la-Reine where he employed nearly forty workers. He developed the "Dalpayrat red", a deep and thick oxblood red that he combined with green, bluish or yellowish jaspery, playing on the effects of matte and shine.
