Leviathan, or the shipwreck, by Charles Dufresne (1876-1938).
Trained at the Beaux-Arts in Paris with the medalists Hubert Ponscarme, he then joined the studio of Alexandre Charpentier. He became a member of the Société Nationale des Beaux-Arts in 1903, and became friends with André Dunoyer de Ségonzac and Charles Despiau. He shared the same section during the First World War as these two artists.
