According to the Archives Nationales, the bronzier Henri Picard, founder and gilder, established himself at 6, rue Jarente from 1831 to 1839 before moving to 10 rue de la Perle until 1864. He provided decorative objects for the small apartments of Napoleon III in the Louvre. He was known for the quality of his production of table pieces and mantelpieces, in particular the combination of gilt bronze and silver bronze. An important pair of twelve-light candelabra by Picard is in the Louvre Museum.
