Offered by La Crédence
Large Virgin and Child carved in oak, hollowed out at the back, sitting on a throne, holding the Child on her left forearm.
Important preservation of the original gilt, which we think may have covered the whole (it seems that it was scratched on the top of the dress and on the folds in the lower right).
The Virgin is crowned, the Child makes a gesture of blessing with his right hand.
The left and right sides of the throne are sketched as the sculpture is not in the round.
Beautiful and solemn presence of the whole.
Spain, end of 15th-early 16th century.
Damage and missing parts, notably the left forearm of Christ.
