The standing man is often a piece of furniture with two doors separated by a central drawer, like ours.
The geometrical moldings in the form of stars and rhombuses at the location of the doors bring great finesse to this piece of furniture.
From the 17th century, many urban homes were furnished in the Louis XIII and Louis XIV style.
The latter has a balanced architecture, rigorous lines and beautiful carved moldings.
The furniture of the Dordogne often presents this decoration: a flat cornice, diamond points with very varied and very decorative designs.
Our piece of furniture is made of cherry wood, a pinkish red color. Its color darkens with time. If its color is easily confused with mahogany, the wood is heavier and harder.
