Iwill is the pseudonym of Marie-Joseph Léon Clavel.
Son of an economist father, he began his life in the trade.
He later decided to devote himself to his true passion: painting.
From 1895, he began to exhibit his paintings under the name of Iwill, at the Salon and at the National Society of Fine Arts, of which he was a founder.
During his career, he won numerous medals at the various world exhibitions.
He devoted his entire life to landscapes, traveling tirelessly from Venice to Normandy, but also to the Pas-de-Calais and Flanders, the surroundings of Paris and Brittany.
Iwill's paintings are filled with gentleness.
These subjects are often treated with the same colors that he explodes on the canvas in subtle cameos.
Our work is constructed in variations of purples, orange yellows and browns.
