Charreton's career is marked by numerous medals and a legion of honor.
In 1903, he co-founded the Salon d'Automne with the painter Pierre Bonnard.
Victor Charreton is part of this generation of painters
who devoted himself almost exclusively to landscapes,
after the impressionists.
His research on colors and techniques of conservation of works, allow him to discover the painting on "finette":
fluffy fabric that allows him to reinforce the vaporous character of his paintings.
For the painter:
"A painting, must be a rare arrangement of colors and lines arranged for our visual preference, and evoke in us a moment of interior life.....
I would like to follow only my instinct which carries me to seek the beauty in the nature".
