Furniture Port, crystal chandeliers
Important bust of Diana the Huntress in bronze with its beautiful original brown patina, it is signed A. Falguière on the shoulder and bears the founder's stamp Thiebaut Frères Paris on the back, it rests on a base of Basque breccia marble.
Very good condition.
Alexandre FALGUIERE (1831-1900) born in Toulouse, he learns drawing in Paris at Carrier-Belleuse and enters in 1854 the school of fine arts in the workshop of François Jouffroy. He made his debut at the Salon in 1857 and won the Prix de Rome in 1859 with Mézence blessé. He then spent five years at the French Academy in Rome and sent several of his works to the Salon. In 1868 he was awarded the medal of honor with his Tarcicius.
