Elegantly shaped oval box with iron hinges and lock (key missing). The size and shape could indicate that it was used to contain writing materials. Nicely patinated iron and wood (pear or walnut). Two compartments inside. Wear and one small triangular part in the left curved corner has been anciently restored.
