The traditions of Georges Jacob, a great 18th century cabinetmaker
were continued by his sons Georges and François-Honoré
united under the name of "Jacob Brothers",
At the death of the eldest of the Jacob brothers
François-Honoré formed a new association with his father,
under the name "Jacob Desmalter et Cie".
When he was appointed cabinetmaker of the Emperor,
his factory had taken a prodigious development.
There were no less than fifteen workshops,
including seven for carpentry,
of cabinet making and turning, three for sculpture, painting and gilding on wood, three others for the work of bronzes,
one for upholstery and the last one for mechanical locksmithing....
The furniture is stamped like ours.
