Pair of 19th Century Neapolitan Bronze Busts

The pair of marble statues, from which the moulds come, were found in the excavations of Villa Adriana, in Tivoli, in 1737, they are currently in the Capitoline Museums and are signed: Aristeas Kai Papias Aphrodeiseis. Aristeas and Papias were two sculptors from the school of Aphrodisia (today's Geyre, in Turkey), famous for its marble quarries and therefore also for its sculptors.
In turn, these statues, datable to the Hadrian age (117-138 AD), most likely date back to bronze Hellenistic models, with an approximate dating to the mid-fourth century BC.
