Works of art, sculptures and furniture Haute Epoque
This majestic ceremonial refresher was made in Italy at the end of the 16th
century.
Composed of a large copper basin, it is decorated with various copper ornaments. First of all, pirate motifs punctuate the entire border and are interrupted by two pretty drooping handles, whose curved shape still seems to be imbued with the Gothic aesthetic. These handles are supported by two pairs of lions sitting, delicately worked, with lush manes. The four feet on which this basin rests are formed by the same lions.
The magnificence and size of this object leave no doubt about its private and
ostentatious character.
In view of its function, this refreshment machine was
certainly ordered for a special event, such as a wedding or other celebration.
