Decorative art from 18th to 20th century
Earthenware of Castelli.
Rectangular plate in majolica.
18th century.
Rectangular plate in majolica with polychrome decoration of an animated landscape with ancient ruins. This plate is part of the new style of painting that developed in Castelli in the eighteenth century. The range of colors is lighter, it contrasts with the richly colored majolica of the Renaissance period. Thus, our plate presents a blue, green, ochre and manganese decoration, the subject represented is also in the vein of the productions of the 18th century.
