Charming carved alabaster plaque bearing the monogram of Gillis Neins.
It represents the scene of the adoration of the Magi: Gaspard, Balthazar and Melchior kneel before the infant Jesus who rests on the knees of the Virgin, and offer him presents. In the background we find Joseph.
On the console of this pretty alabaster plaque we can see the monogram “G N” belonging to the sculptor Gillis Neins, active in the region of Mechelen around 1630.
