St Antony the Great. 14-15th C Statue in carved, gilded and polychrome wood. He is also named Anthony the Hermit and considered the father of monasticism. Dressed in a tunic under a hooded coat, he holds, in his rigth hand, the T-shaped stick which is his attribute. Barefeet symbolize his desire for deprivation. Gothic period. From Southern France ?
