Pieter Casteels the Younger is a Flemish painter who lived in the city of Antwerp at the end of the 17th century.
He is registered in the guild of Saint Luke between 1773-74 as an Antwerp Master.
He is a painter specialized in imaginary port scenes where a number of characters animate the composition.
We find in his work recurring elements such as the towers that allow us to easily recognize the artist.
Paintings by Casteels can be found in the Louvre, the Besançon and Quimper museums, as well as the National Museum of Fine Arts in Buenos Aires.
