This important mirror, made in Italy in the 17th century, has a rare, if not unique, processing. Rectangular in shape, the wooden frame has three orders of concentric bands. The outer perimeter band is in gilded wood carved with a oyster or St Jacques shell motif. The inner one, just as golden, has a carving work with foliated decorations. The middle band has an unusual workmanship: medium-small stones have been applied to form a rocky effect, then painted with brown lacquers.
The symmetry of the carvings allows you to use this frame both vertically and horizontally. The frame, for its style and large size, also lends itself to be combined with antique furnishings, as well as contemporary.
