Perfume-burner paire shaped as a peacock. Iran, Qajar

Perfume-burner shaped as a peacock in pierced and incised brass. Peacock represented with spread wings, standing on a doucine octagonal base with canted sides. Pierced and incised all over with scrollwork, arabesques and cartouches animated with people or flowers. A moon figures in the centre of the polylobed tail. Red glass eyes. Glass cabochons decorated the neck.
