French Furniture and Art Pieces of the 18th century and Empire period
Exceptional suite of 6 maple chairs with an emblazoned backrest stamped Jacob D Rue Meslée, Empire period.
This kind of furniture is absolutely fantastic because of its modernity, since it is closer to Art Deco than to the classical Empire.
A close model (the escutcheon is in the other direction) had been delivered for the billiard room of the castle of Malmaison, these chairs are now preserved at the Wittelsbacher Ausgleichsfonds in Munich.
Condition report: restored in July-September 2019, upholstered in October 2019. Blue silk. Old restorations, wear of time (traces of xylophages), recovery of rabbets on 3 of them.
Delevery information :
A wooden box is made for each article. For especially fragile furniture pieces, we produce customized boxes.
