The first Italian credenzas were plain dressers that soon became elegant and ornamental pieces of furniture thanks to carved decors. This small credenza also known as mobiletto opens with one door-leaf and three drawers in the belt.
The facade is conceived as a model of architecture with a substructure, a main body and an entablature. Both jambs are adorned with emblazed cartouches, guilloché friezes and foliated consoles. The mobiletto’s feet are shaped as Ionic capitals.
The central door is framed by fine mouldings and is centred with a coat-of-arms.
The tight walnut wood grain and its beautiful patina play a part in this refined decor.
