Elegant giltwood carved mirror, richly carved from the early 18th century; of the end of the Regence period and beginning reign of Louis XV. Rectangular form slightly inflected in its horizontal upper part, augmented by a pediment; Decorated with a central mercury mirror and then mounted on a chassis with miter keys. The treatment of the border of the frame presents protuberances at the four corners as well as in middle parts, where emerge accented acanthus, shells cartridges of lambrequins to the volutes enriched with gadrooned foliage and entangled foliage on a background with braces bordering throat and Gadroons in the periphery of the mirror.. Although the fragmentation of homogeneity of forms, which is still very present, remains peculiar to the decorative repertory of what was realized between 1730, some elements suggest a later date around 1735-1740; In particular at the center of the median cartridge of the curved part, by central pomegranate on foliate-C scrolled cartouche. Mirror with beautiful proportions perfectly in line with the height requirements of the current standards.
