This six sober chairs compose an elegant set, very representative of the Henri IV period. During the reign of king Henri IV, chairs show a vertical architecture with straight lines, maintaining the Renaissance style.
The backrest is placed relatively high. An openworked spacer stands between the chair’s legs, two slim curved columns.
The squared back beams are joined by a crossbar identical to the lateral ones.
This set of six chairs presents an outstanding condition. Typical of Henri IV reign this set evokes the period’s taste for grace, measure and splendour.
The chairs are upholstered with green velvet.
