Magnificent pair of large Spanish desk scissors, profusely decorated with vegetal and zoomorphic engraved motifs, dated in 1781, with origin incription "Albazete", property inscription "SOI DEL PADRE FRANCISCO BARTOLOME MARTINEZ" and signature "C. IL BIBA".
The city of Albacete, in the kingdom of Castile, was the main Spanish centre of knives and scissors production, mainly between the XVIIth and XIXth centuries.
Condition: Both points are broken. In its original pressed and polychrome cardboard case, whose lid is lacking.
