"Etruscan" clock, Empire period

Strange clock in patinated and gilt bronze, consists of a gilded bronze sconces trapeze taking grotesque sceneryof what appear the bust and feet of a woman wearing in the antique style, that we find by Percier and Fontaine .

Dial signed Roy in Paris, Simon Roy died in 1809, several pendulum movements kept at Mobilier National bear his signature.

An identical clock is illustrated on page 383 of the Encyclopedia of the French Pendulum by Pierre Kjellberg.
The François Duesberg museum in Mons kept an identical model.
