17th & 18th centuries Furniture and Statuary
Rare Christ of gilded bronze of period late fifteenth / early sixteenth. Christ is represented with his head bent to the right.
His face, with almond eyes, has a short chiseled beard. Christ is wearing a torus with double streaks which announces the crown of thorns of the next centuries. He wears a pleated peritonium with drape stretching to the right. This Christ can be compared to a copy preserved in the collections of the National Museum of the Renaissance in Echouan (see photo).
