Oak, 16th century, France 15 x 14 x 19 cm Extremely finely sculpted head with utmost attention for details. The hairlines of the nose organically fuse with the grain of the wood. This scultpure shows obvious quality and skill as only the most qualified sculptors were able to realize. The head was an ornament of a very expensive piece of furniture (most probably a door of a cupboard or cabinet). Perfect condition.
