Late 18th century French Louis XVI octagonal tripod table or gueridon

This French late Louis XVI period tripod table or gueridon, has a tilting octagonal top with gilded tooling and edged with a bronze molding. The curved legs are joined by a tapered fluted column, supporting a tapering shaft, inset with mahogany stringing.

Parisian maker.

Late 18th century.

A comparable piece in the Mobilier National collections (former Garde-Meuble de la Couronne, "furniture storage of the Crown"), inv. GME-13874-000.
