Our canvas is a passage from the Gospel of John (20.19 to 29), namely the episode after the resurrection, when Christ appeared for the first time to the apostles. Thomas, not present on this occasion, it was very doubtful of the history of companions until materialized Christ to the apostles.
It was at this time that, represented in our work with a strong emotional intensity, as recounted in the Gospel Jesus removes her robe aside and invited Thomas to touch his wounds.
Now analyze the canvas from a stylistic point of view, it is easy to draw strong assonance with the Genoese school of mid-seventeenth century, and precisely with the work of Valerio Castello, interpreter of a new concept of composition, to create a dynamic table, joyful and musical.
