A Spanish silver reliquary medallion dedicated to Saint Erasmus, circa 1580

Very fine Spanish Renaissance non-marqued silver oval reliquary medallion, entirely decorated with fleurons cresting, scrolls and interlacing, with a latin cross on the top.

The back is incised with a scene depicting Saint Erasmus martyrdom and a cartouche with the name of the Saint. The spelling enables us to situate the origine of this work in the regions of Valencia or Barcelona.

The front door conserves its inside glass in good condition. This fine medallion reliquary, of specially large dimensions, is displayed on a modern black painted iron stand.
