Rare German sculpture of Saint Sebastian of the late fifteenth century.
The Saint is often represented in positions tortured and wearing a simple loincloth.
But in southern Germany since the Middle Ages, the iconography is different and the Saint is wearing a toga and wearing a cap, as our model.
In both cases, it is the tree before it is attached to his martyrdom.
Sculpture (character and shaft) is made in a single trunk. New arrows holes (missing) are distributed on the body.
Height: 102 cm
State: Lack left hand and feet.
Traces of polychrome.
