The project can be compared with the work of Soufflot for the abbey church of Sainte-Geneviève (now the Panthéon), Contant d'Ivry for the Madeleine church, or in smaller dimensions, Jean-François-Thérèse Chalgrin for the parish church of St Philippe du Roule.
