This beautiful empire clock, the bronze worker Deverberie, representing a Candy Marchand, takes its inspiration from the cries of Paris.
A bit like today in the markets, these cries, the number of fifty, were moved by street vendors, who were operating on the streets of the capital, from the Middle Ages until 1910.
And they reported their presence while animating the streets and squares. These cries were regulated according to each corporate business.
Here it is the cry of the market to "oublies" (kind of donuts).
