Moustiers with the arms of René Herault de Sèchelles early 18th century

Moustiers

Oil and vinegar holder, in earthenware decorated in blue monochrome à la Bérain. The bottles bear the coat of arms of René Herault de Sèchelles (1691-1740) state councillor in 1730.
First third of the 18th century

René Herault de Sèchelles was first a lawyer at the Châtelet in 1712, then Attorney General at the Grand Council (1718) and Intendant of the Generalitat of Paris in 1739. On 7 August 1719 in Paris, he married Marie Marguerite Durey, daughter of the Marquis de Vieucourt. It was probably at this time (1719-1720) that this service was created.
