Beautiful Virgin with the goldfinch in limestone, sculpted in the round with traces of polychromy. Mary holds in her hand the bird fed by the Child. Our sculpture shows traces of ocher and blue polychromy and gilding on the hair and the fleur-de-lis crown. The Virgin is draped in a mantle with significant lateral fall under the left arm, with beautiful folds heralding the end of the 14th century. The faces of the Virgin and the Child suggest a production from Ile-de-France.
Light and graceful counterpoise of the Virgin. This sculpture illustrates the persistence of the canons of Gothic sculpture from Ile-de-France from the mid-14th century towards its end. Its medium size reflects the popularity of devotional works from the 14th century onwards.
