19th & 20th century decorative arts.
The design of the ceramic is remarkable for its simplicity. The neck is narrow, the body oblong without base, shoulder or lip. The purity of the form is underlined by lines, double or single, all irregular, which testify to a superposition of glazes. The dullness of the latter, the flexibility of the lines, are a tactile invitation: only touch reveals the complexity of the potter's work and its technical achievement, in a spirit comparable to that of Berndt Friberg.
Height with lampshade: 84 cm.
