Lille earthenware bowl, first third of 18th century

Circular earthenware tarred bowl decorated in monochrome with a radiating motif in the centre formed of floral scrolls framed by a frieze of lambrequins on the rim.
1st third of the 18th century.
On the reverse is a bookplate with a coat of arms surmounted by a helmet bearing the Latin motto ‘ex Museo C Oldekop’. The Oldekop family originally came from Russia and settled in the Netherlands, and another branch came to France.
