An elegant Japanese inro with three compartments, made of maki-e lacquer, depicting a night landscape illuminated by the moonlight, where a boat floats serenely while a cormorant is portrayed both perched and in flight.
It is completed by a netsuke and a bone ojime, both carved with great mastery.
Period: Meiji late 19th century.
Inro dimensions: 7 x 6 x 2 cm.
Netsuke dimensions: 3.2 x 1.5 cm.
Condition: Excellent condition. There is a minimal lack at the level of the moon inlay and light signs of aging.
