Fascinating figure of the Virgin erected vertically and sculpted in the round, probably part of the sculptural group of Calvary.
As shown by the static posture and solemn appearance, the work dates back to the beginning of the 15th century.
The vertical folds on the bust and the long dress, tightened at the waist by a belt, are typical of this pre-Renaissance period.
The sculpture was made of lime wood and comes from the French Pyrenees region.
Despite the poor conditions and the lack of weapons, which do not allow the visibility of the details, the work still conveys great emotion.
It can be positioned on the marble base using a pin, or placed on the wall using a rear hook.
