Large Vase, China late Qianlong

China 1780-1820. The baluster sides rise from a short and spread foot to a bent neck flanked by a pair of loops in the shape of an imitated cloisoned chilling with a flared mouth. The body is vibrantly painted in glossy enamels with gilding highlights to represent a lively scene of elegantly dressed ladies on the terrace of a palace, engaging in leisure activities, in a monumental landscape with gnarled pines, imposing mountains and swirling clouds. Each side features a central dancer surrounded by musicians playing string instruments, flute and percussion.Other ladies hold lanterns and jade chimes, carry tools and fruits for good omen or just look.
Origin: Mrs Safia Sassi, Paris.Formerly in a renowned French private collection, acquired from the aforementioned person. An Austrian private collector acquired it from the aforementioned person through the London trade.
State of preservation: Natural wear, mainly on the gilding. Expected manufacturing irregularities, including a circumferential cooking crack around the foot. Tiny shorts and superficial scratches. A handle of which a small part has been re glued. Exceptional presentation
